The 3pm Crash

 Do you have enough energy to accomplish your goals?

As a small business owner, I often found myself a bit overwhelmed by the sheer number of expectations that were placed on me each and every day.  Like so many others, prior to receiving some guidance, I would start off my day with the best of intentions, but quickly crash and burn between 2:30 and 3pm every day!  I rarely would be able to make it through my evening without taking a short nap, and I definitely didn't give my family the quality time that they deserved! On my high performance journey, I quickly realized, that I must maintain a high energy level to turn my hopes and dreams into reality!

In sharp contrast, we all know that person that’s like an energizer bunny.  They bring a high level of energy and joy to every single interaction throughout their day. So, how do they do it?

What I learned was that I couldn't leave my health to chance.  If I wanted to level up my energy and avoid the 3pm crash, I needed to get intentional about what I ate, the exercise that I was getting, as well as the recovery time I build into my day.  I would love to say that it's been easy, it has not.  But being intentional in these areas has been a major factor in increasing my mental and physical energy each day.  I definately would not be where I am today if I had not made my health a priority.

So, if you're suffering from that 3pm crash each day, maybe it's time to ask yourself.....Do I have the energy level needed to achieve my personal and professional dreams?  If not, what am I doing about it?
